If they have pictures, cut the pictures out. Do a match the letter to the picture activity. That is you write letters on small pieces of paper and ask your child to find the letter that goes with the picture. When he or she is done, take the pictures away and rearrange the letters. Ask him to do the same matching activity in reverse -- he reads the letter and then finds the picture to go with it. Finish up by asking him to look at the picture and write the letter for himself.
