Child Reading Worksheets

--> When you use reading worksheets, whether you got them from a book or from the internet, don't feel that you have to go through each and every activity or page you find. Few workbooks and worksheets are 100 percent user friendly. Try not to use pages that can confuse your child. You can use those worksheets and pages that seem a bit too hard for your child in all sorts of creative ways.

If they have pictures, cut the pictures out. Do a match the letter to the picture activity. That is you write letters on small pieces of paper and ask your child to find the letter that goes with the picture. When he or she is done, take the pictures away and rearrange the letters. Ask him to do the same matching activity in reverse -- he reads the letter and then finds the picture to go with it. Finish up by asking him to look at the picture and write the letter for himself.
